Ditchling Beacon
Ditchling Beacon is the highest point in East Sussex and one of the most iconic viewpoints on the South Downs.
With sweeping views across the Weald and all the way to the sea on a clear day, Ditchling Beacon is a beautiful place to slow down and explore with your pup. Wide chalk paths and open grassland create plenty of space for a relaxed wander, whether you are stopping for a quick leg stretch or setting off on a longer countryside adventure. The ever changing skies and peaceful surroundings make every visit feel a little different, while the rolling landscape offers endless opportunities to pause and take in the scenery. It is a wonderful spot for a morning walk, a golden hour stroll or simply enjoying some fresh air together.
There is something wonderfully calming about the wide open space at Ditchling Beacon. The panoramic views are spectacular in every season and the direct access to the South Downs Way means you can easily extend your adventure. We also love spotting the grazing sheep and cattle that help shape this beautiful landscape, making every visit feel like a true countryside escape.
