Birdham Pool

Tucked just off Chichester Marina, Birdham Pool is a quieter spot for a waterside wander with your dog. Woof Scout Crocker explored the small track alongside the pool, where there’s plenty of opportunity for a good sniff along the way. Logs and sleepers offer places to perch while dogs take their time exploring, with small bridges helping you across sections of the trail. It’s a good choice for a shorter, slower wander, or you can extend your walk by following the surrounding roads or continuing towards Chichester Marina.

Check the tide times before heading out, especially around spring tides, as the path alongside Birdham Pool can flood right across towards the marina. After wet weather, some sections can get muddy, although locals often lay down planks to help make the trail easier to cross.
