Centurion Way

Centurion Way is one of those walks that's easy to return to, whether you're looking for a gentle stroll or a longer adventure. Following a former railway line through farmland and tree-lined paths, it's a traffic-free route that's popular with dog walkers, cyclists and runners, with plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. Our Woof & Scout, Crocker, loved exploring The Bowl, where the open meadow, Centurion sculptures and wide-open space gave him plenty of room to sniff, wander and stretch his legs. He also ventured into Brandy Hole Copse, where winding woodland trails, makeshift steps and fallen trees turned the walk into an adventure, with so many interesting sniffs that he slept for hours afterwards. Both areas have plenty of local history too, so it's worth taking a moment to read the information boards or learning a little about them before you visit. Parking is available at Westgate Fields or the West Stoke end, but there are no cafés or toilets along the route, so it's worth planning ahead.

If your dog enjoys sniffing, leave time to explore Brandy Hole Copse. The winding woodland paths are full of interesting scents, and it's the kind of place where dogs can happily investigate at their own pace.
