Friars Oak Inn

Friars Oak Inn on London Road is somewhere we’ve enjoyed visiting with Lily more than once, and it’s one we’re always happy to return to. Dogs are welcome in the bar, a designated indoor dining area and outside, which gives you plenty of choice when visiting together. Lily settled happily beside us while we had breakfast, although she was definitely interested when an extra sausage arrived for her! There’s a canine menu too, along with a handy dog station with water bowls and blankets for four-legged visitors. We really like that the dog-friendly touches feel part of the pub rather than an afterthought. Being able to eat indoors with Lily is a big plus, especially when the weather rules out the garden. The accessible, step-free pub has a comfortable medium-sized dog-friendly area, and vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are available. A lovely, relaxed stop if you’re exploring the area with your dog.

Jack and Jill Windmills aren’t far from Friars Oak Inn, so you could pair your visit with a walk before or after your food. A nice way to give your dog some exploring time before settling down at the pub.
